From Yago School we are looking forward to having the opportunity to have you with us.
We are a young and inclusive school with a strong commitment to guarantee the best education for our students even beyond their own personal abilities. Therefore, this policy will be flexible and as personalized as possible.
At Yago School, we have a Counseling and SEN department that accompanies students from an early age (Secondary 1-Secondary 4), advising them on the learning paths they should follow according to their academic, personal and vocational profiles.
For this, we have implemented programs that facilitate and guide students in the decision making as it relates to future academic and professional choices, as well as the development of their “life project”, based on the recognition of their skills, competencies, interests and professional development needs.
Below, we show some of the follow-up and guidance actions carried out by our Counselling Department, as well as the Deputy Headmistress of Secondary & Baccalaureate, who is also the IB Coordinator, where development phases are highlighted:
To begin the process of admission to the IB Diploma Program at Yago School, the first requirement will be to submit student willingness to participate in writing, and assuming the commitments that the IB philosophy demands.
The following is a difference between the admission process for internal and external students:
Applications will be assessed collectively by a team formed by the professionals listed below, who will authorize or deny a student’s enrollment in DP:
Applications will be assessed collectively by a team formed by the professionals listed below, who will authorize or deny a student’s enrollment in DP:
During the selection process, the following criteria will be taken into account:
Yago School serves diversity and is committed to offering curricular or customized adaptations based on intervention plans that students with special needs may require. Parents must present psychological reports and the student’s history in the interview, as well as all documentation and information relevant to the special needs of their children at the time of making the request, in order to be able to evaluate each case independently.
The YAGO SCHOOL Counselling team will study the possibility of the student’s admission and will determine, in a positive case, the necessary internal or external support measures. Special support will have an additional cost. Students with special educational and/or social needs will only be admitted if the School can offer a program that meets their individual needs.
Any omission of data in the submitted reports could be cause for cancellation of the enrollment spot.
For more information, please consult the Special Educational Needs Policies.
In all three cases, you must provide the following information:
Once you have had an interview with the Director of Admissions in person or by phone (in the case of parents residing abroad or outside the province of Seville) you can fill out an enrollment form that you will find in the Admissions section of this website.
If the child is joining Primary, Secondary or Baccalaureate, once said request has been received the school will contact you to do an interview and / or admission test with the student.
Once the tests are completed, the student will be informed of the admission criterion or not of the student in our school.
If you have made the decision and want to formalize the registration, you must deliver the documents listed below together with the registration fee.
There are many reasons to choose Yago School.
Those parents who are looking for the best bilingual private school in the Aljarafe area of Seville where their children can attain the best communicative standards in English and Chinese in an international setting; where diverse needsare served (gifted children and curricular adaptations); with a team of excellent teachers that attends pupils according to their individual needs; where the educative methods are at the forefront of the advances and methodologies that 21st century society demands, and special attention is given to new technologies, sport, art and music, will enroll their children in Yago School.
Yes, we offer stays of 1, 2 or 3 months at our sister school, Riddlesworth Hall, which belongs to the international CIEG chain. We also offer a two week stay at the end of the year at this wonderful school.
The teaching schedule for all pupils is:
We also have a uniform order service through email uniforms@yagoschool.com
Yes, we have a psycho-pedagogical department formed by a psychologist and a pedagogue. The department advises the teaching staff and attends to the diverse needs of our pupils, offering programs for gifted children, and curricular adaptations for pupils who need it.
We offer the possibility of studying Catholic Religion or Values to all pupils.
Those children who study Religion can also receive the courses of catechesis for First Communion and receive it in Primary 4 in the school itself.
Then they can continue with the Confirmation catechesis.
Yes, all Secondary pupils belong to a volunteer group that collaborates, through our foundation, The Yago Foundation, with different NGOs
In Spain we call bilingual those schools that follow the Spanish system but which have a high percentage of the teaching load in English. However, most of them only offer between 6 and 10 hours of English lessons per week. In this sense, Yago School is considered a truly bilingual school since its pupils receive 70% of the load in English compared to 30% of Spanish, and English is the official communication language between employees and between teachers and pupils.
We should not confuse a bilingual school with a British one. The latter are those that follow the National British Curriculum, where the contents demanded by U.K. are studied, and the exams and certificates obtained are the official English ones.
Yago School is a school with a bilingual project which means that it has an important teaching load entirely in English and Chinese from 2 years, but following the Spanish curriculum. This allows the pupil to acquire a high level of English without having any problem accessing a Spanish university. We have also started the process to offer a double degree, Spanish and international American, so that our pupils can access any university in Spain, the United States or anywhere in the world.
Yago School is strongly committed to bilingualism and our goal is that when pupils finish their second year of Baccalaureate speaking English fluently (level C1-C2) and Chinese to B1-B2 level.
We have two campuses:
The school has a distribution service for uniforms and books in the school itself.
Yes, the food is made in the kitchen of the school. Our menus are carefully planned by a team of nutritionists who provide our pupils with a balanced and healthy diet.
Yes, pupils with allergies, intolerances, diabetes, celiac disease or religious or cultural restrictions who must follow a specific diet, must provide a medical certificate and notify in School Office so that they can be offered a menu adapted to their needs.
The school has an outdoor swimming pool and during the hot months, September-October and May-June, pupils from Primary 1 onwards receive two hours a week of swimming as part of P.E.
Yes, the school offers a wide range of after-school activities at lunchtime or from 17:15 p.m. to 18:15 p.m.
No, buses leave school at 17:00. Parents will be responsible for picking up those pupils who attend extracurricular activities.
