Our Nursery School is part of the integral project of Yago School, where students have the opportunity to be educated from 0 to 18 years old at a school that offers an international education.
We are aware that the environment in which children live during the first years of their lives will have a decisive role in the formation of their personalities.
At the first stage of infancy, it is essential that the care and needs of all our students are covered. Feeding, sleeping, diaper changes, sphincter control, and outdoor play are fundamental for a complete and good development of babies, always on par with a solid educational project, to get the best out of our students.
We enhance creativity and awaken an interest in discovery.
We use methodologies based on the Development of Intelligence and Early Stimulation.
We understand bilingualism as the ability to use two languages indistinctly and with full competence in both languages.
We learn the second language in a natural, playful and intuitive way: from the age of 4 months a child can distinguish his mother tongue from a second language. At Yago School Nursery we establish the bases of spoken English through immersion in this language, games, routines, songs, poems and Yago Phonics that use gestures, dances and flash cards.
By the time students finish this stage and move on to the Senior School, they are able to understand the messages they are given in English, do what they are told, and to name many things, as well as to answer in this second language in a spontaneous and natural way; they have already come a long way.
Early Stimulation is a set of educational intervention techniques that aims to promote the cognitive, social and emotional development of children during the infant stage (from 0 to 6 years old).
Its teaching methodology is based on two basic principles:
In the early years of childhood, the child’s brain has a high capacity to create new neural circuits based on new learning and experiences. This is known as brain plasticity.
This would be the main objective of early educational intervention: to “train” and stimulate the brain at the critical moment when the child begins to pronounce his or her first words, to move around and to explore the world on his or her own. But, in addition, early education will also ensure that our pupils can get the most out of the learning process and that they acquire new effective strategies in the way they interact with their environment. In short: that the child learns to learn.
It can be said that Early Stimulation responds to the first educational needs of children and helps to promote their integral development in the most critical stage of learning. Furthermore, given their preventive and rehabilitative nature, these educational stimulation programmes from 0 to 6 years of age are key to the early detection of neurodevelopmental problems or risk situations that could interfere with the student’s subsequent learning.
In addition, at Yago School Nursery we also pay special attention to the physical programme, in order to guarantee a base for the overall development of our students.
Within the physical programme, the basic activities for the good neurological organisation of the brain are crawling and drawing, walking and running, and for this reason they occupy a privileged place in the daily routine. In addition to the fact that these activities are very enjoyable for children, they bring them great benefits.
The brachiation ladder develops the pectoral muscles, back and shoulders, while working on eye convergence at close range and facilitating the acquisition of manual dexterity.
The physical programme, carried out rigorously and systematically, helps to achieve a good neurological organisation that is not only able to help the child but also helps to prevent possible difficulties in future learning.
At this stage, our students are divided into three groups according to their ages:
Babies
From 4 months until 1 year
Teddy Bears and Monkeys
Ages 1 and 2
Kangaroos and Koalas
Ages 2 and 3
As an international nursery, at Yago School Nursery we use the project-based learning method with a cross-curricular learning theme every term. This gives children the opportunity to manipulate, explore and compare through structured and scheduled activities. Whereas cross-curricular project-based learning is a teaching model in which children learn from their immediate reality and experience.
Educational project with the most effective, innovative and avant-garde methodological approaches in early childhood education such as Montessori, Waldorf Steiner, Bank street, Steam-based-learning, Reggio Emilia and Playway.
Our Nursery is created in a privileged, caring, safe, comfortable and cheerful environment, as well as being bilingual, so that our students begin to be immersed in their second language from the moment they start to speak their first words.
All the facilities are equipped with the necessary measures to guarantee the safety and well-being of the little ones.
The educational area is made up of classrooms equipped and adapted to the different age groups, provided with the necessary didactic material for each stage: interactive whiteboards, classroom library, table area, floor area, personal spaces such as hangers and storage systems to teach students to be responsible for their things. All classrooms are connected by wide glass windows and are also ventilated from outside.
We have a large 900m2 garden with areas of natural grass and others with artificial grass that enable motor development, imagination, fantasy games, role play, sports, social development, as well as the celebration of various outdoor events, like the annual Summer Show, Grandparents Day, birthdays, etc.
We think it is important to have shady areas, so we have all kinds of trees, like jacarandas, lemon trees, orange trees, and false pepper trees.
At Yago School we like to adapt to the age of the students and offer at each stage everything that facilitates the development, correct and positive evolution of the students. In this sense, we have a wonderful Baby House, a space specially designed for the little ones in the Nursery, where our students from 4 to 12 months enjoy exclusive facilities for them with a stimulation room, games and a fully adapted garden area. to your needs.
It is equipped with central heating, a kitchen, a sleep room, an area to work on psychomotor skills and a garden with artificial grass to enjoy the outdoors.
This classroom provides a great space for motor and body education at this age. When working on psychomotor skills, it is very important to take into account that the environment where this activity takes place fulfills its function. We designed an extraordinary psychomotor classroom where students acquire notions of space, time, and laterality, related to their body, objects, and situations that facilitate the acquisition of new learning and the development of their abilities.
The importance of hygiene habits is key at this age. At our Nursery, we have independent bathrooms integrated within the classroom to promote these habits in a correct and disciplined way. Sinks and toilets are adapted to students’ heights, and there are changing tables, small bathtubs, and a large storage area with everything necessary to care for our students (diapers, wipes, special creams, soap, towels, personal sponges).

At our Nursery, we pay attention to the paramount importance of rest and sleep at these ages. Sleep for children is a physiological and psychological need, utterly necessary for proper student development. We help and educate students on this important habit.
For this purpose we have a unique and exclusive space for sleep time, divided into a baby cots area for the little ones and another part where the little beds are distributed.
We have our own kitchen, a modern kitchen with all kinds of resources and advances so that our students can eat a balanced and varied diet with fresh products, adapted to each age group and to each stage of their nutritional development and prepared on the day by great professionals who help us in this learning process. Feeding times at this age are key, as it is in the 0 to 3 years stage when they begin to learn to use the different elements of the table, to sit correctly and to taste different flavours and textures.
It is a complex but at the same time rewarding task and parents can be assured that during the five days of the week their children are eating correctly.
Yago School Nursery is characterized by individualized attention and fluid communication between teachers and parents. There are different means of communication, including individualized quarterly tutorials, the school journal for daily messages both home-nursery and nursery-home, email, Educamos digital platform, ClassDojo (where evidence of babies’ development is collected), our website, and social networks.
In addition to the fluid and close relationship with teachers and the management of our Sevillian Nursery, we organize interesting Parent Schools which guide parents on relevant educational issues adapted to these ages alongside the Counselling Department.
Nursery students can start attending our baby house starting at 4 months of age, essentially at the end of the parents’ maternity leave. In this way, we contribute to the reconciliation of family life by facilitating parents’ return to work.
We also accept children from 12 months to two years old at Yago School Nursery, at any time of the year, subject to the availability of places in the classroom of the corresponding age group.
To enter Yago School, it is not compulsory to enroll at Yago School Nursery, but it is advisable because the students acquire the sense of responsibility, autonomy, stimulation, and bilingualism that will help them to adapt better to the Senior School.
We do, however, accept students directly in Infant 3, who will gradually pick up the same pace as the students coming from our Nursery.
The school uniform and backpack can be purchased at the Yago School shop; the shop offers an online ordering service to help parents order without having to come into the school. Parents must also pay a fee for the school supplies, which include the school journal, construction paper, markers, paint, and even the costumes for the Christmas and Summer Shows that our teachers design.
In addition to the school material, they must buy a book created by our pedagogical team that they complete throughout the school year with different activities adapted to the content programmed in each of the terms.
Students from 0 to 2 years old must bring their school agenda, morning snack, water bottle and, if used, a pacifier to class every day in their school backpack.
Students must also bring a blanket and pillow that will remain at the Nursery for nap time. We will wash it consistently until the end of the school year. Students must also have two changes of clothes to have on hand when necessary.
